I did something yesterday I have never ever done before.
I was nervous….scared even….but told myself to stop being silly.
I took a big deep breath, and just did it. And it was an amazing feeling.
In a wet kind of way….
Aneeeeway.
I had the strangest dream last night. An old school friend had just published his very first book and was holding a party to celebrate. Everyone was invited, apart from his father. When I asked why, the friend told me that his down and out father didn’t love him, didn’t care about him, and would certainly not be interested in his new book.
I made it my mission to track him down before the party started. I had all sorts of crazy adventures on the way, but finally found him on a street corner, very dirty, and looking remarkably like the tramp in Trading Places. We talked for a bit and then he followed me, crawling on his hands and knees for what seemed like days, to the party venue. But when he reached the door, he collapsed…he gave up…and told me he couldn’t go on anymore. I was absolutely livid and told him he’d come all that way. From the corner of my eye I could see my school friend approaching us, and I had just enough time to stuff £20 into his Dad’s pocket. When the friend was upon us, his Dad reached for the money, held it up to his son with a very shaky hand, and said “Son…I’d really like to buy a copy.”
And then I woke up.
Ok…who does dream analysis? LoL.
Back to what I was saying before….THIS is what I did yesterday.
These fish…… I was just wondering….. errr….. well you know.. (cough)… how.. wha…errmm, mmmmm… size and all that? Never mind, forget I ever mentioned it. It’s just that my friend was asking me to find out.
By the way, those goldfish might actually be coy carp.
Goldfish finger sucking and strange dreams about reuniting people who have had some sort of rift….. hmmmmm
I’d call it strange but who am I to judge?
I think the fish-finger-sucking is sweet! It looks like some of the others want to have a go, too. Aww
I know a little about dream analysis, and (if I’m not mistaken (which is, or course, unlikely)), the dream indicates a deep desire to dance in your knickers.
It is possible I’m wrong, of course.
How does one entice a koi to suck anything? Peanut butter on your finger?
What an awsome dream Kiddo. Just so yo know I have a fin also. Not gold but I have a fin. Fingers anyone…….
Oh b****x, I spelt koi wrong didn’t I?
How embarrassing!
That serves me right for pointing out it wasn’t actually a goldfish.
So…did your finger smell like fish before or after you put it in the water.
Sorry, I just couldn’t resist. I haven’t busted your chops in so long, I figured I make it all up in one post!
So…what’s new on your side of the pond?
As for the fish, you may have a hidden desire to be sucked, or suck something.
The “down and out” scene could just be a mental play of just being yourself, a nice person..
What a strange dream! I can see where the book writing comes in, but the down and out??
OK, so I was going to agree with Mike about the Koi, but then I would have had to point out his embarrassingly HUGE spelling mistake so I decided not to!
Then I noticed that Ted was not so shy about it and went right ahead and did it!!!! Loved Ted’s analogy of your dream btw!!
Umm I have to say that is a different dream. Sorry I can ‘t help you out on that one.
That is some freakin big fish! So was it good for you?
I looked up some keywords from your dream on a dream analysis website and got this ……People most often portrayed in dreams are actually reflections of your own personality traits, provided the dream is not prophetic. These traits are ones that you need to enhance or develop, or if negative, work on eliminating or reducing. You should immediately ask of yourself, what traits do I like, and what traits do I dislike in the characters I dream about? Then look for those traits in yourself. You may be very surprised to find a match up! People in dreams work most commonly to reflect, or mirror important aspects of your personality
Could it represent your desire to write and a possible fear of failure? I don’t know would love to be clever enough to know what dreams mean.
Just glad your dream wasn’t about the fish ….
Animals:They symbolize our own traits, good and bad. When you see an animal doing something in your dreams it usually represents a bad trait.
Oh I can’t wait for my koi to wake up and start slurping the surface, begging to be fed. They are so much fun.
I dont like it when I dream weird dreams.
What pretty fishes and a wild vivid dream. I am not one to interpret dreams but have you looked up online a dream dictionary to see what it says???
Hi Miss
When I used to go on holiday to my Grandfather’s Farm I’d sit in the Lake and let hundreds of tiny baby Mullet- ‘fingerlings’ we called them- come up and they’d gently nip me all over my legs and body. I loved the feeling!
I’m no good at dream anaylsis either,sorry- in fact I smoke weeds to stop dreams such as these!
Ummmmmmm. I’m not to good with dream analysis, but that picture of the fish sucking your thumb is cute as hell. He must of thought you were fishy food.
Mike – do you really think they look like Coy Carp? I’m not sure what a COY is to be honest….hang on….i’ll google it.
Oh! Now I get it. Coy = shy, in a flirtatious kind of way. I think you may be right there! x
Savage – Thanks for that. I think you may be onto something! x
CB – The poor buggers probably hadn’t been fed for a fortnight!
Ted – Funny, because the other day I was doing just that. I blame the effect the internet is having on my psyche. Subliminal messages, an’ all. Thank God no one could see me.
Ah! A Koi. That explains the fifty quid price tag. For the record, when I stick my finger out (whether smothered in peanut butter or not), people have this irresistable urge to suck it. In fact it’s so tempting, I quite often suck it myself. x
KT – *wiggling finger* x
Mike – It’s ok babe…we’re all nice and supportive here. WE won’t make fun of you. x
HAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Speakin’ – Oh, back on form, I see!
D’ya know, I have never sniffed a goldfish. Not once.
But I think I may have to now.
And oh! A double wammy! Very good. “My side of the pond.” hehehe x
Richard – The desire to be sucked or suck something. Hmmm. I like that…rather a lot actually. And thanks for those kind words. x
Ali – Aww, you’re such a sweetie!
Have you had much contact with Ted? He’s very clever, ya know. He knows all sorts of stuff…and his knowledge of knickers is extraordinary. Any underwear issues…he’s your man! x
Erika – Strangely, once I closed my eyes, it was rather erotic!
Ellie – Thanks for doing that x
Dy’a know….that actually makes a lot of sense to me.
I have no idea what’s happeneing to me, because I hadn’t had a dream in months, but I’ve been having 3 or 4 a night for the past few days. Last night it was body bags and japanese coaches…
Kitty – Our fish are getting rather lively…along with the frogs. Humping season again!
I hate weird dreams too. x
Blessed – Good plan. I’ll go online and check it out…along with all the other bizarre ones I’ve been having lately. Japanese coaches??? WTF?
rn_buffoon – Ahh…that mellow blanket of squidgy nothingness!
I’m not sure I could have sat in that pond, to be honest! x
Shelly – I think you’re right. They did look pretty hungry. I was just amazed at how friendly and fearless they were. I think perhaps I could learn something from them, lol.
Elaine, when you ask if I’ve had any ‘contact’ with Ted, could you be more specific?? I would hate to drop Ted in the brown stuff!!! and Ted, I might have a few underwear issues you could help me with!!
I have problems analyzing the real world most times, dreams are to far out there but I would say, you think your friend is giving up before he got to the starting line and needs a little encouragment or insentive to push on.
Nice fish and they look more like Koi.
Its hard to tell a goldfish from a Koi when they are small (A Koi can grow a couple of feet long).
I bet they smell they same though LOL.
Have a nice day
Ali; Well, other than the fact I often forget mine, I’m your current Ohio-based internet geek Laney-loving undies guy.
Hey, I’ve never had a cool title before!
But, being deadly serious now (and pulling up a comfy couch), how can I help you? The doctor is in session (if not in boxers).
WHy is that so damn creepy to me?
Steve~
I’m not sure what it means but I love the fish pic.
Sweet dreams?????
and
WHY?????
Miss I don’t think I’d have sat in with those carp in yor picture either- the little fish I mentioned were never much longer than a centimetre or two long…
I don’t do dream analysis and I can’t figure out what’s weirder … your dream or your reality (the sucking goldfish)!
Actually, I could say something about how I would enjoy the goldfish thing even more, being a guy, but I won’t go there.
Your dream just proves what a great friend and amazing person you are!
I can’t believe you let that fish do that! Yuck! lmao
Ali – Oh, I wouldn’t worry too much. Ted, even if dropped in the brown stuff, would still emerge smelling of …um….err…peanut butter or something.
Walker – Hi! Thanks for commenting. What is it with people thinking fish smell of fish? I really think I need to scoop one from my pond and sniff it, because if I don’t, it’ll bug me forever!
Ted – Get dressed imediately.
Steve – I’ve reached the conclusion that anything entirely normal in this world doesn’t sit too well in your head. Now, had I been on my hands and knees with a stiff fish scewered to a cucumber, that would be ok, wouldn’t it?
Suze – Oh My God. I can’t WAIT to see your next entry!
TME – LoL. Why? Um…because it seemed like the right thing to do! Actually, I was dared, and if someone dares me to do anything, then….
rn_buffoon – I don’t know if that makes it ok or not! x
Dan – Ewwwwww. Can you imagine that? (Although I’d like to think that you’d need something slightly bigger than a Koi!)
GE – Aww, that was sweet. x
I suppose it was a bit of a strange thing to do, but then again, I don’t think I’m entirely normal!
Do dolphins do that?
I feel like I am trying to put together a 500-piece puzzle with three or four pieces.
The story about the author and his father has such great possibilities! What a sad commentary on the way relatives are sometimes treated. I can think of several somewhat parallel situations from my experience.
The fish? Well, they didn’t swim over to you for miles with their dying breath, and I like it better that way.
cute. xx
